Zuda Comics is DC Comics’ webcomics division. The creation of this division was announced in press release on July 9 2007 and the first line-up went live October 30th. Anyone can submit an eight screen sample and each month 10 of these are picked and put up for a vote. The monthly vote winners and up to six “instant winners” will each get a year’s contract to produce webcomics for Zuda.
High Moon author, David Gallaher, in an interview with Comics Worth Reading gave the following advice to future Zuda creators, “with only eight screens to tell your story, you need to be ready to be awesome right out of the gate. So, give it your all and make sure your submission is the best that you can make it. And whether you win or lose, you’ll already be in better shape than you were before you submitted, because you’ve cultivated an audience that you didn’t have before.”
Although creators were solicited for the first round of the competition due to the desire to have content available on the day of the site’s launch, the later competitors and Instant Winners were all chosen from user submitted comics.

The 28 year old actor died Tuesday of unknown causes leaving behind a two year old daughter. His death comes as a shock to family, friends, fans and colleagues.
Police revealed that there were six different types of prescription drugs found in Ledger’s room. Police also said the masseuse who found him in bed, cold to the touch and unresponsive, failed to immediately call an ambulance. Instead Diane Lee Wolozin used Ledger’s mobile phone to call his actor friend Mary-Kate Olsen, screaming down the phone that Ledger was unconscious and she didn’t know what to do. Olsen said she would send over her personal security guards to deal with the situation. But seconds later a frantic Ms Wolozin called again: “I think he may be dead. I’m calling 911.” Ambulance officers, who arrived at Ledger’s apartment about the same time as Olsen’s security guards, could not revive the actor.
Heath just finished the filming of the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight, where he plays The Joker. This film is set for release July 18, 2008. He was also working on a new film called The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus which has not yet been completed.

Tammin Pamela Sursok (born August 19, 1983) is an Australian Logie Award-winning actress and musician. She is known for the roles of Dani Sutherland on Home and Away, Colleen Carlton on The Young and the Restless and Marjorie in Aquamarine. She also launched a short-lived singing career (under the name Tammin), with her debut single, “Pointless Relationship”, released on November 14, 2004 and debuting in the top 10 of the Australian singles chart the following week.

I went to get it checked out, and the doctor told me the septum was 80 percent deviated and that I had two small fractures on my nose.”
“I didn’t do this because I believe in plastic surgery,” she added. “I did this to help my health. I literally almost could not breathe out of the right side of my nose.”
“I want my fans to know the truth. I’m not someone who is going to act like I had nothing done. I just want to be honest, because my fans are everything to me.”
The once distinctively beautiful and highly recognizable Ashley has now entered the realm of Jennifer Grey by becoming the average, bland (yet still beautiful) girl next door. “Hannah Montana caught using a body double” is the headline people are seeing all over the internet when the key words Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus are searched. It seems some people think this is a big deal and warrants a refund for being duped or payment for damages for messing with their child’s psyche . These people don’t seem to understand that the use of body doubles is not uncommon in touring shows for costume changes and there was nothing dishonest about it. It certainly doesn’t warrant a refund or even a public out cry about fakery. It’s stander procedure that most people without and agenda will quickly acknowledge. These people that are berating this 15 year old for something as silly as a costume change should be ashamed. They are acting like complete idiots and I hope at some point they come to their senses and leave this child alone.

Nipping at the heels of the big social networking sites like MySpace and FaceBook is the social networking website HI5.com. Hi5 was one of the 25 most visited sites on the web in 2007. The company was founded in 2002 and as of December 2007, hi5.com had over 98 million members.
At hi5, users create a profile in order to show information such as interests, age and location. They can have user pictures where other users can post comments. hi5 also allows the user to create a photo albums and have a music player in the profile. Friend request are done via email. When a person receives a request, they may accept, decline or block the user altogether. If accepted, the two will be connected directly or in the 1st degree. The user will then appear on the person’s friend list and vice-versa. Some users opt to make their profiles available for everyone on hi5 to view. Other users exercise the option to make their profile viewable only to those people who are in their network. The network of friends consists of a user’s direct friends (1st degree), the friends of those direct friends (2nd degree) and the friends of the friends of direct friends (3rd degree).
Just like the big boys of social networking, HI5 has caused the creation of a many websites looking to cash in on the popularity of theirsite by offering free HI5 layouts and HI5 tools.

Kelly Tilghman, a Golf Channel anchor, said on a broadcast last week that the younger golfers on the PGA Tour should “lynch Tiger Woods in a back alley.” “There is simply no place on our network for offensive language like this,” Golf Channel said in a statement. On Wednesday, The Golf Channel reacted, suspending Tilghman for two weeks.
Tilghman drew criticism for remarks about Tiger Woods during a January 4, 2008 PGA Tour Telecast. In response to co-anchor Nick Faldo’s joke that younger players should “gang up” on Woods, Tilghman replied “Lynch him in a back alley”. Tilghman was laughing during the exchange with Faldo at the Mercedes-Benz Championship, and Woods’ agent at IMG was quoted as saying he didn’t think there was any ill intent. But the comments gained traction by the civil rights activist Al Sharpton. He demanding she be fired immediately. She apologized two days later for her remarks.
On January 9, it was announced that The Golf Channel had suspended Tilghman for two weeks as a result of her comment, a reversal of course from the channel’s earlier declaration that she would not be suspended. Woods and Tilghman have known each other 12 years. She was picked to host a club demonstration with Woods in south Florida when he talked about new products from Nike Golf. Tilghman was helped when Mark Steinberg, Woods’ agent at IMG, said it was a non-issue and considered the matter “case closed.” Before her suspension was announced, Sharpton spoke earlier on CNN’s “Prime News” and continued to push for her firing, saying he wanted to meet with Golf Channel because the comment was “an insult to all blacks.”
